The Cougar Cat

The farmer took a bat to do battle with a cat

who was busy chasing the cattle.

Why should the cougar have steak

when the farmer can barely make

enough to pay the bills in Seattle?

But a cougar of any age

will eat the canary in the cage

especially if the door is left ajar.

For a cougar is not a pet

and will probably never get

as tame as the dog in the car.

is not likely expensive wine

but more so than not

will be crumbs from the table.

But pork chops or veal

will more than likely appeal
